School of Dental Medicine Graduation Outcomes
LECOM On-Time Graduation Rates, NBDE Parts I and II Pass Rates, INBDE Pass Rates, and ADEX Licensure Examination Pass Rates
Policy regarding collecting and reviewing information on student outcomes and licensure pass rates: Data regarding student pass rates on licensure exams is collected annually from national licensing bodies. This information is reviewed by the Dean of each respective program and the Provost of the institution. Once the data has been reviewed and confirmed, it is approved by the Office of Communications and Marketing for use on the LECOM.edu website, as well as in recruitment materials.
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Dental Medicine (SDM) offers a 4-year Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) program in Bradenton, FL. The SDM monitors outcomes of its graduates using on-time graduation rates, pass rates for the National Board Dental Examination (NBDE) parts I (discontinued) and II, the new Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE), and the pass rates for components of the American Board of Dental Examiners (ADEX) licensure examination.
While information regarding its graduation and licensing exam pass rate is not required by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) for purposes of accreditation, LECOM’s policy is to provide this information to the public, including current and prospective students.

Information about the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE)
Since 2009, the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) has worked to develop an examination program that integrates content from the biomedical, behavioral, and clinical sciences, to replace National Board Dental Examination (NBDE) Parts I and II. The purpose of the Integrated National Board Dental Examination (INBDE) mirrors that of the NBDE Program: to assist dental boards in determining the qualifications of individuals who seek licensure to practice dentistry. On December 31, 2020, the JCNDE discontinued the NBDE Part I. The NBDE Part II will be discontinued on August 1, 2022. No further administrations of the NBDE will be provided after the aforementioned dates and the NBDE parts I and II are and will be replaced by the INBDE.
