Ashwath Athreya, OMS-I, tells us why LECOM at Elmira campus is the perfect fit for students who thrive outside of traditional textbook learning. Ashwath shared that the hands-on approach allows students to dive into real-world patient interactions from the start!

By practicing how to ask, "What brings you in today?" and following up with diagnostic tools like blood tests and EKGs, students develop their clinical "detective" skills early on. He believes this style of learning is essential preparation for clinical rotations, helping students become well-versed in the entire patient care process.

Serving up Support for the Community!

The LECOM MMSA of Elmira recently hosted its annual charity fundraiser, featuring both volleyball and basketball tournaments. This setup allowed students to participate in the sport they enjoyed most, fostering friendly competition and school spirit. Approximately 20 Fellows of the College joined our Class of 2027 students for a morning of lectures and breakout sessions focused on professionalism, ethical decision-making, and leadership in dentistry.

Reaching Amazing Heights!
