Student Complaints
Student Complaints
LECOM defines a complaint as a written, signed, and dated letter which is related to tuition and fee policies, accreditation standards, incidents of discrimination, and Institutional policies/procedures of or applicable to a LECOM college or school or to the LECOM organization. The policy and protocol for submitting a complaint directly to LECOM is provided in section 9.10 of the Student Handbook and Academic Catalog.
LECOM recognizes the seriousness of filing a complaint with the institution; therefore, in such cases, all documents concerning the complaint will be maintained in a confidential file in the Provost’s office unless official action is required by the institution. Confidential information is information received during the complaint that is not otherwise public and/or is not the authorized to be made public. This process is designed to promote public confidence and to uphold integrity.
LECOM does not tolerate retaliation and will pursue actions against those who take retaliatory measures against reporters, witnesses, or parties. Neither LECOM nor any other person may intimidate, threaten, coerce, or discriminate against any individual for the purpose of interfering with any right or privilege. Complaints alleging retaliati0n may be made according to the grievance process.
