Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine has an established scholarship fund and offers scholarship awards based on academic performance. The scholarship fund varies each year and is dependent upon fundraising efforts by the LECOM community including LECOM administration, faculty, staff, students, and friends of LECOM.  The amount raised is matched annually by the LECOM Board of Directors.   In the last 3 years over $4 million dollars per year has been awarded to LECOM students who apply and meet the qualifications.

The monetary awards are applied to tuition charges on the student bill to reduce student loan debt.  First year students at all campuses are eligible to apply for a new student scholarship.  Awards for continuing students are dependent upon cumulative GPA, service, and professionalism.  All students will receive email invitations to apply online for the LECOM scholarship during the application windows in May and November.

Fundraising examples include:

  • Annual LECOM Scholarship Auction in Erie
  • Annual LECOM Scholarship Gala in Bradenton
  • LECOM Virtual 5K
  • LECOM Art Auction
  • LECOM Golf Tournament
  • Other advertised local LECOM scholarship raffles and events

Students are welcome to participate in these activities as part of their service.
