Throughout the decades, the parallel between medical practice and military service has been found at the heart of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM); advanced unflinchingly through a commitment to scholarship, dedication, intense discipline, and selfless service.
On June 21, 2024, Major Andrew Glenn, D.O. (LECOM Class of 2018) graduated from the Occupational Medicine Residency Program at the Department of Aviation Medicine, U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, at Fort Novosel, AL.
Having also recently completed the Aerospace Medicine Residency, Major Glenn will serve as the Brigade Flight Surgeon with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY.
He is replacing Major Chris Grace, D.O. (LECOM Class of 2014). Major Grace arrived at Fort Novosel to take the position of Flight Surgeon Course Director, replacing Lieutenant Colonel Erik Johnson, D.O. (LECOM Class of 2011).
Lieutenant Colonel Johnson is now the Command Flight Surgeon for the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Novosel. All three officers serve as Flight Surgeons in the U.S. Army, specializing in Aerospace Medicine and Occupational Medicine.
LECOM has a strong history of preparing United States military personnel in their medical education to serve with excellence. Aerospace Medicine and Occupational Medicine are specialties under the American Board of Preventive Medicine.
