Applicants to the LECOM Doctoral Program in Pharmacy Education must complete an online application. Candidates must include a personal essay describing future career goals and reasons for applying to this program.

This program features an innovative curriculum designed to train students in pharmaceutical and clinical sciences, pedagogical principles, and scholarship of teaching and learning. The program features coursework in pharmaceutics, pharmacology, medicinal chemistry, pharmacotherapeutics, and educational theory; as well as teaching practicums, journal clubs, and educational research. During the program, students will develop extensive knowledge and skill in teaching and scholarship. Graduates will be prepared to lead and excel within academic, administrative, pharmaceutical industry, or regulatory positions.

Applicants with strong interest in education, research, and pharmaceutical sciences are encouraged to apply to the program. A Bachelor’s or graduate degree in healthcare practice, science, or education is required prior to matriculation. The Pharmacy Education Ph.D. program features a four-year curriculum that is adaptive and flexible to the needs of students of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Students are required to attend on-site at either the Erie, PA campus.
