Congratulations to LECOM Bradenton Student Doctor Jacob Foster (Class of 2025) for presentation of a poster “The Frontal Flap: An Alternative to the Paramedian Forehead Flap for Nasal Reconstructions” at the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Annual Conference in September 2024 in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Constantino Lambroussis, pictured working with students at LECOM Elmira, recently worked on a case report with LECOM Erie students. “Our medical students gain the experience of presenting a topic to colleagues, the ability to review primary sources, and the benefit of being more competitive for certain high-demand residencies,” Dr. Lambroussis said regarding students in research.

March 30 was National Doctors’ Day! This year, LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion recognized James Lin, D.O., board-certified geriatrician and LECOM alumnus. Dr. Lin is President of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, where he also practices. He is also the Medical Director of the LECOM Institute for Advanced Wound Care. Dr. Lin gathered with LECOM Regional President Danielle Hansen, D.O., and his wife and three children for pictures at a breakfast held at the hospital in his honor.

LECOM Bradenton School of Dental Medicine Students Madalyn Spain, a D2, and Brooke Bobbey, a D1, recently teamed up with the Baltimore Orioles to visit Brookside Middle School, sharing the important message that your health starts with your oral care!
As part of the Orioles Health & Fitness Challenge, middle school students learned how to "eat, train, and live like the pros," with a focus on healthy eating, tobacco-free living, and physical fitness. Just as becoming a professional athlete takes dedication, hard work, and focus on health, so does dental school. Taking care of oneself is vital to being able to help others effectively.
Madalyn and Brooke had the opportunity to assist Orioles First Base Coach Anthony Sanders and Infielder Coby Mayo, guiding the students through workouts and reinforcing the importance of health in every aspect of life. We’re proud of how our students are making an impact on the community and shaping future leaders!

The Marge Fund for Cancer Patients’ Pre-Treatment Dental Care Charity Lift-A-Thon was recently held to help cover costs of greatly needed dental care for cancer patients, who end up needing additional dental care as a result of treatment. The 2nd annual event was organized by Dr. David Palo, oral surgeon preceptor in the School of Dental Medicine’s D-4 clinic.

Pediatrics Club goes to school! Every year, the LECOM Pediatrics Club goes to McKean Elementary to help out at the science fair! This year, we brought the game, Operation, and challenged the kids to remove the “funny bone.” We also brought our equipment for them to hear their own heartbeats! It was a true highlight of my time on the Erie campus. I felt the joy of discovering the beauty of medicine.

Big things are happening in Northeast Florida!! LECOM at Jacksonville University broke ground today on the region's first medical school. This state-of-the-art facility represents a major leap forward in healthcare education and demonstrates a promising future for medical training in Northeast Florida. The inaugural class of medical students begins in 2026.

Residents were very excited to have our LECOM students partner with them and teach them oral hygiene skills. A new partnership between The LECOM School of Dental Medicine and WQLN Public Radio in Erie was kicked off at the recent Penn State Behrend annual STEAM Fair. Highlighting Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, the fair welcomes children of all ages.
Several LECOM Erie SDM 4th-year students are now designated as Educational Ambassadors working with schoolchildren in programs sponsored by WQLN.

🏒 Our LECOM at Elmira students and faculty had an incredible hands-on experience at the Battle of the Badges hockey game at the LECOM Event Center! This annual showdown between local firefighters and police officers isn’t just about hockey—it’s about community, teamwork, and supporting our local heroes.
