About Tania Flink, Ph.D.

Dr. Tania S. Flink is the Director of Problem-Based Learning (OMS1) and Professor of Physiology at LECOM-Bradenton. She attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her BS degree (Bioengineering) and MS degree (Kinesiology). Her love for all things kinesiology led her to Arizona State University, where she obtained her Ph.D. in Exercise Science. She has been educating and mentoring students in higher education since 2008.
Dr. Flink’s areas of expertise in physiology include neuro, vestibular, cardiac, and skeletal physiology. Dr. Flink’s goal at LECOM is to mentor students on meaningful research projects that help to promote wellness in different populations for the prevention of future pathologies. She has been actively involved as a research mentor in the LECOM Research Internship Program since the summer of 2023. She is always open to supervising students and collaborating with faculty in any area of research, even if not in her area of expertise. After all – we are lifelong learners!

- Relationship between previous tonsillectomy and current atrial fibrillation (retrospective study)

- Surgical repair of a ruptured ascending aortic pseudoaneurysm (case report)
- Hormone replacement theory on coronary calcification (systematic review)
- Aerobic exercise and vascular dementia (systematic review)
