About Emily Marcinowski, PhD
Dr. Emily Marcinowski is a developmental scientist with expertise in early childhood, research methodology, and statistics. She has a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Developmental Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, NC.
Research Interests
Dr. Marcinowski is interested in studying how early motor development affects the development of cognition and language. She has performed research investigating how postural control changes how infants explore toys, developmental differences between infants with disabilities or typical development, and early manual asymmetries. She also has an interest in developing unique, low-cost methods of intervention and assessment for young children.
Potential research projects:
- A systematic review of touch-based therapies for infants with hypertonicity and related motor disorders.
