Dr. Mark Braasch received his D.D.S. from the University of Nebraska and has over 20 years of private practice experience in Nebraska and Colorado. Dr. Braasch brings a proven track record of enhancing patient care through efficient healthcare delivery. Dr. Braasch has a passion for public health dentistry and has made several dental service trips to Central America and Africa. Dr. Braasch is a wonderful addition to our faculty at the School of Dental Medicine and specifically, to our D4 students at the Defuniak Springs Clinic in the Florida panhandle.

What a fantastic day at LECOM Park on March 15! The Pittsburgh Pirates took on the Baltimore Orioles, and LECOM Day made it even more special. Shout out to third-year dental school student, Sam Pulsipher, who had the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch!
LECOM Bradenton dental students gave away free dental hygiene kits to fans, helping promote good oral health! Big thanks to the students for sharing their knowledge and keeping our smiles bright!

The Herbal Medicine Club at LECOM Bradenton had an amazing Planting Day! 🌱 Thanks to the support of HMC, we’ve taken a big step toward creating our herbal medicine garden in collaboration with Dr. Syed from the College of Medicine and under the guidance of our advisor, Dr. Yang from the School of Pharmacy. Located at the Manatee Community Garden, our garden now features Aloe Vera, Marigolds, Skullcap, Lemon Balm, Ginger, and Rosemary—all plants with incredible medicinal properties and native to Florida.

Erie SGA President Sarah Wang and Bradenton SGA President Priya Patel recently met up at the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents quarterly business meeting in Texas. Also representing LECOM Erie was SGA VP1 Christian Ciecierski. A gathering of all incoming and outgoing SGA presidents from every osteopathic medical school in the country highlighted the event. #1LECOM

LECOM Students and Faculty present at AACOM - A strong LECOM presence was felt at the recent American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine Educating Leaders ‘25 conference. Associate Dean Dr. Richard Terry gave a dynamic presentation titled ‘What’s Next for Osteopathic Recognition’ while also presenting with 2 LECOM at Elmira students, Jazz Munitz and Rachael Muggleton, on understanding the learning culture of Gen-Z, generational differences, and solutions for improving the residency experience: The Future of ReZidency-Bridging the Gap with Gen Z.

Associate Dean of Clinical Education Dr. Michael Rowane presented on Scholar 12, a research development platform that evolved from an MS MeD thesis that provides osteopathic-oriented research training and promotes faculty mentorship.

Celebrating National Osteopathic Medicine Week!
The LECOM Student Government Association turned out for the National D.O. Day of Service this year by arranging a Spring Celebration Day at the LECOM Senior Living Center in Erie. Students played card games and board games with residents and shared some special snacks and treats. Some of the ladies even had their nails done! The kindness shown brightened everyone’s day, and we’re so proud of our students’ service.

We’re kicking off National Osteopathic Medicine Week with a focus on the outgoing officers of the Student Government Association. Each was presented the John M. Ferretti, D.O., and Silvia M. Ferretti, D.O. Student Leadership Award for their hard work, service, and dedication over the past year. LECOM at Seton Hill hosted an On-Campus Day in March for 6 students from Indiana University of Pennsylvania's American Medical Student Association.
The students got to experience life as a LECOM student with Simulation lab, Problem-Base Learning, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine demos. After touring the campus, they wrapped up the day with lunch with faculty members, where they could speak one-on-one and get answers to all their questions.
Thanks to these exceptional students and the IUP American Medical Student Association President, Ms. Catherine Martsolf.

Hi, my name is Connor Bowers. I graduated from Wilson College with a degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. I have just received my acceptance to Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine-Bradenton Class of 2029. I chose LECOM because of the Problem Based Learning curriculum, which allows us to place teamwork at the center of learning and grow together. I also loved the campus and the faculty. I’m super excited to get started!
