SHSA to be Gold Sponsor

The LECOM School of Health Services Administration (SHSA) will be a Gold Sponsor for the Annual Meeting of the Tampa Chapter of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) being held this November.
LECOM is very pleased to serve as a sponsor for this year’s event,” stated Dr. Tim Novak, SHSA Dean. “We hope to contribute to the mission of ACHE by developing closer relationships to serve the educational needs of the members.”

Cassandra Holub, National President of the Student Osteopathic Medical Association, traveled to San Antonio, TX, for OMED 2024, networking with osteopathic physicians and students from across the country. Here she is with LECOM-Erie SOMA President Christina Witters and immediate-past LECOM-Erie SOMA President Raelynn Dorscheid together with Dr. Silvia Ferretti, Provost, Senior Vice President, and Dean of Academic Affairs.
Cassandra was also the recipient of several Cleveland Sports Team Scholarships. Thanks, Chomps and Moondog! Cassandra says thank you to the Cleveland Guardians, Browns, and Cavs for their support to LECOM students, and to Dr. John M. Ferretti and Dr. Silvia M. Ferretti for making this possible.

Representing LECOM at Elmira on a national stage!
Dr. Terry, along with OMS-III students Rachael Muggleton and Jazz Munitz, had the honor of presenting at the MedHub 2025 Virtual Medical Education Summit.

💡 Their session highlighted the generational disconnect in today’s workforce—between Baby Boomers, Millennials, and the emerging Gen Z. They discussed common stereotypes, differences in communication styles, and what motivates Gen Z learners in both the classroom and the workplace. The conversation sparked thoughtful dialogue on how to foster environments that are efficient, innovative, collaborative, and compassionate — equipping the next generation of healthcare professionals to thrive.

Follow one of our 3rd-year LECOM School of Podiatric Medicine students on a day in their life! Brian Price is a 3rd-year SPM student out on his clinical rotations. He has participated in numerous surgeries, both elective and emergent, and is now on a month-long rotation in LECOM’s Wound Care Clinic! He feels as though LECOM SPM has prepared him well for his upcoming fourth-year externships.

All Smiles for Community Service

Fourth-year LECOM School of Dental Medicine students gave their all at the 2nd annual RAM clinic, providing free dental care to underserved Erie communities.

Mentored by Drs. William Hoch, David Palo, and Susan Calderbank, these 8 students did masterful work in an all-day session from 6 AM until 4:30 PM. Incredible work, team!
