LECOM Student Presents Research at NANOS Annual Meeting

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) fourth-year medical scholar, Marie Nicole Antonios, recently represented LECOM at the North American Neuro-Ophthalmology Society (NANOS) Annual Meeting, held March 20–24, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Antonios presented a poster entitled, Altered Mental Status after Teprotumumab Infusion: A Diagnostic Clue to Small Cell Lung Carcinoma.  Her research highlights an unusual clinical presentation and the importance of recognizing unexpected findings that may provide critical clues to an underlying diagnosis.

Antonios conducted the research under the mentorship of Jody Abrams, MD, of Sarasota Retina Institute in Sarasota, Florida.  The NANOS Annual Meeting brought together physicians, researchers, and trainees in the field of neuro-ophthalmology, providing Antonios with an opportunity to share her work with colleagues from across the country.

Her participation in a national medical conference reflects the enduring LECOM commitment to supporting student scholarship, research, and professional development.  Through opportunities such as these, LECOM students continue to expand their clinical knowledge while contributing to the broader medical community.

LECOM congratulates Marie Nicole Antonios on this noteworthy accomplishment and recognizes her dedication to research and scholarly excellence.
