LECOM Provost, Dr. Silvia M. Ferretti, Honored by the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Ferretti received the Robert A. Kistner Award in recognition of her significant contributions to osteopathic medical education

Dr Silvia AACOM of LECOMERIE, Pa. (April 30, 2023) – Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) provost, Dr. Silvia M. Ferretti, D.O. was recently awarded the Robert A. Kistner Award from the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM) Board of Deans.  The award is presented annually to an individual in recognition of their significant contributions to osteopathic medical education throughout their careers.


“I am honored to be named the 2023 recipient of the Robert A. Kistner Award,” said Dr. Ferretti. “On the advent of the 30th Anniversary of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine—an enlightening and inspirational hub of medical education that has drawn my life’s purpose—this Award holds special meaning.”
Dr. Ferretti was presented the award by AACOM president and CEO Robert A. Cain, D.O. during a special ceremony at the organization’s annual Educating Leaders Conference in Bethesda, Maryland.

In 2023, the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) celebrates its 30th anniversary. Founded in 1992, the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) has grown to become the largest medical school in the country.
