Biography
Dr. Penta received her Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and chemistry from Utica College. After completion of her undergraduate degree, Dr. Penta began her graduate studies at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Penta received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in biomedical sciences in December 2016. During her doctoral studies, she conducted research in environmental contaminant exposures and chronic disease development. After graduation, Dr. Penta spent time working in clinical research as a clinical research coordinator before joining North Carolina State University as a postdoctoral research fellow where she focused on projects in nutrition and immunology. Dr. Penta joined LECOM as an assistant professor in basic sciences.
