Student Career Counseling
Student Career Counseling
Career services are offered to all medical students through online resources, group presentations, and individual meetings. Each campus has a designated career counselor to provide students with information and guidance relevant to career choices.
Presentations are given to all students in their first and second years which cover the residency match process and outline the services LECOM provides. Additional resources are available both online and through individual meetings. Portal resources for matriculated students can be found at the following link, portal.lecom.edu/ICS/Students/.
Students can also opt to schedule a one-on-one meeting with an advisor. In preparation for the meeting, students will identify their areas of interest, clinical experience, research experience, publications, and leadership roles. This information, along with grades and class rank, is used to evaluate if a student is on track for a particular field and to identify areas that might need work. A mentor may be requested at this time as well if a student has identified a specific area of interest. CV and personal statement review are available upon request.
