Octavia Homan, PhD, RN, WHNP-BC
Dean, LECOM School of Nursing

Welcome! My name is Dr. Octavia Homan, and I am the Founding Dean of the School of Nursing at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. We are so excited you have decided to apply for our Associate of Science Degree in Nursing -RN Program.

We are facing one of the most challenging times in the nursing profession, with both a shortage of direct-care professional nurses and educational programs to prepare them. The northwestern region of Pennsylvania is one of the hardest hit areas in the Commonwealth.

LECOM has answered this call to act through the creation of a School of Nursing and our Associate of Science Degree in Nursing – RN program. In just four semesters, students who have completed all the science and general education pre-requisites elsewhere will begin nursing courses, that will run over 15-week semesters, including two summers. All courses will be held at the LECOM Bayfront campus, and all clinical experiences are in place for guaranteed placement at our LECOM Health affiliates in and around Erie, PA. In less than 15 months, students in our program will graduate with their ASN and be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN and become licensed as a professional nurse in the state in which they reside.

For LECOM Health employees, as an employee benefit, students may be eligible for tuition reimbursement or sponsorship which will cover all expenses for the program.

Thank you for your interest in LECOM School of Nursing ASN-RN program, and we look forward to reviewing your application.
