About Christopher S. Theisen, Ph.D.
Dr. Chris Theisen is cell and molecular biologist with research experience in cancer biology, neuronal development and neuronal protection. He has a B.S. in Biotechnology from University of Nebraska at Omaha. He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2007 in the field of cancer metastasis and then conducted neuro research during a Postdoctoral Fellowship at University of Kansas Medical Center. His most recent research publications came during his tenure at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he worked on the cellular events of preconditioning and neuronal protection.
Current Research Interests:
Dr. Theisen’s continued research interests include studying molecular mechanisms of cellular preconditioning and neuronal protection in cell models of neurodegeneration and elucidate genetic and nutritional correlations between brain aging and mitochondrial health, using cell biology, gene expression modulation and protein biochemistry techniques.
