About Munir Syed, M.D., M.Phil.
Dr. Munir S. Syed M.D., M.Phil., is one of the founding faculty of LECOM at Elmira but currently resides at the LECOM Bradenton, FL campus. He is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Histology and the Director of the Histology Course. He also facilitates PBL sessions. Dr. Syed has extensive teaching experience. He is a voracious reader and an avid gardener. He was instrumental in establishing the first teaching garden at Elmira College. Some of his research interests include studying: The Effect of Gardening in Reducing Anxiety Among Medical Students; The Effectiveness of Using Digital Media Utilizing Drawing as a Teaching Tool in the Histology Curriculum of First Year Medical Students; and the Role of P.B.L. Discussion in the Making of Well-Rounded Physicians.
