Biography

Dr. Varun Soti is a pharmacologist. He received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, UP, India. He went on to earn his Master of Pharmacy degree in pharmacology from JSS University, Mysore, KA, India. Dr. Soti received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in pharmaceutical sciences with molecular medicine and pharmacogenomics as the core area of specialization from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As an educator, Dr. Soti has extensively taught and been the course director of pharmacology. He has taught therapeutics, cardiovascular risk factors, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology, pharmacological and toxicological screening methods, natural products, and biochemistry to students in medical, pharmacy, and other graduate degree programs. His areas of research include antibiotic resistance, cardiovascular research, substance abuse, and opioid addiction. Dr. Soti joined LECOM as an assistant professor of pharmacology in January 2020.
