Biography
A native of Tampa, Florida, Dr. Perez received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University School of Dentistry, Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduation from dental school, he became the Director of Dental Services for Dougherty County Health Department, Albany Georgia where he directed and provided treatment in the pediatric dental clinic. He continued his dental career in Clearwater, Florida where he owned and operated his private practice for many years. Dr. Perez started working as part time faculty at LECOM School of Dental Medicine in 2021. It is during this time that he discovered his passion for teaching and working with dental students. In 2023, he started working full time at LECOM SDM as Assistant Director of Restorative Dentistry working in the Simulation Clinic teaching pre-clinical Removable Prosthodontics. Dr. Perez has been very active in organized dentistry and has held numerous leadership positions at the local, state and national levels, where he has focused most of his time working on continuing dental education programs. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and West Coast District Dental Association, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists.
