Biography
Dr. Rukiye Nar is an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at LECOM at Jacksonville University. Her areas of instruction include medical biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and problem-based learning (PBL) facilitation. Dr. Nar has extensive teaching experience across multiple academic levels, including pre-medical, graduate, and postgraduate medical education, with a strong focus on integrating clinical relevance into basic science instruction.
Dr. Nar received her MD degree and completed her residency in Medical Biochemistry in Turkey. She has several years of experience managing a clinical biochemistry laboratory in a public hospital setting. She later transitioned to academia, where she was promoted to Associate Professor based on her academic productivity and teaching contributions.
Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of disease, leukemia, and biomarker discovery. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and is a co-inventor on a patent related to a novel anti-leukemia therapeutic approach. She has been actively involved in interdisciplinary collaborations in oncology and renal physiology.
