Nadeen Anabtawi, PharmD, MSc, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy. She earned her PharmD from the University of Jordan, an MSc in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Wright State University, and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The Ohio State University.
Dr. Anabtawi’s academic training and scholarly work focus on pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and translational cancer pharmacology. Her doctoral research at The Ohio State University James Cancer Center investigated genetic and transporter-mediated determinants of chemotherapy efficacy and toxicity, integrating molecular biology, drug disposition studies, and quantitative pharmacology to inform precision medicine approaches. Her work has resulted in multiple peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals.
Dr. Anabtawi has received several competitive honors recognizing her research excellence, including the Michael L. Hess Prize for Cancer Research, the Eli Lilly Fellowship in Pharmaceutics, Pelotonia Graduate Scholarship funding, and institutional and national research awards. She has presented her work at major national and international scientific meetings, including the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET), American Society of Hematology (ASH), and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), delivering oral and poster presentations on cancer pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and educational innovation.
Prior to her academic career, Dr. Anabtawi practiced as a clinical oncology pharmacist at King Hussein Cancer Center in Jordan and served as a Specialist in Toxicology and Poison Information at Sidra Medicine in Qatar. These clinical experiences strongly shape her teaching philosophy, which emphasizes evidence-based practice, clinical relevance, and active learning. At LECOM, she teaches within the PharmD curriculum using case-based discussions, problem-solving workshops, and research-informed instruction, while mentoring students in research, scholarly inquiry, and professional development.
