Biography
Michael W. Hankins, Jr., D.P.M., MSMEd, CWSP, FACPM, AACFAS, is board certified in podiatric medicine by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine with an added certificate of qualification in podiatric surgery. He is also board certified in wound care by the American Board of Wound Management. His professional interests include wound care, limb salvage, reconstructive surgery and a mix of clinical/bench research. He received his medical degree in Miami, Fla., from Barry University in 2017. He then completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Millcreek Community Hospital in 2020. He also obtained a master’s degree in Medical Education from LECOM during his training and enjoys teaching students and residents as the Assistant Program Director of the LECOM Health/Millcreek Community Hospital PMSR/RRA program. Dr. Hankins has worked in a private practice in Pittsburgh for the past few years and is excited to have returned to the Erie area. He enjoys spending his spare time with his family, staying active, listening to podcasts/audiobooks and keeping up with current medical literature.
