Biography
Dr. Lee is an Associate professor of Physiology at LECOM School of Dental Medicine. He received his Ph.D. degree in Physiology/Neuroscience from Boston University and continued his postdoctoral fellowship at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis in University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he worked on the use of embryonic stem cells for the treatment of neuropathic pain. Dr. Lee continued his research at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the department of Anesthesia and Critical Care working on nerve injury-induced activation of microglia and development of a model system for peripheral neuropathy. Prior to joining LECOM School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Lee taught Neuroscience to students in Master of Science in Biology and human Anatomy and Physiology to students in School of Nursing. At LECOM SDM, he is teaching medical physiology to dental students as a PBL facilitator, and as a lecturer to students in Master of Medical Science. He is the chair of Academic Rank and Promotion committee, and serves as a member to Research, Faculty Development committees, and an alternate member of the LECOM Institutional Review Board. Dr. Lee maintains a strong research program at LECOM SDM and is actively involved in training the next generation of clinician scientists evidenced by many student-led research publications. Dr. Lee also serves as a reviewer for numerous peer-reviewed publications.
