Biography
Dr. Hind S. Hussein graduated in 2011 from Baghdad, Iraq. Between 2012 and 2014, she worked in a public hospital and a private clinic. In 2013, she was certified in orthodontics. In 2014, she completed her advanced postgraduate multispecialty residency. Dr. Hussein joined the University of Florida (UF) as a visiting scientist (restorative dental science). In 2017, she was certified as a UF graduate assistant teacher with a technology program. From 2017 until May 2018, she was a courtesy clinical assistant professor with the Operative Dentistry and Prosthodontics division of the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences at UF. In June 2018, Dr. Hussein joined LECOM School of dental medicine in Bradenton as an assistant professor of restorative dentistry. Dr. Hussein is the course director of the operative dentistry. In 2019, she was selected as an Educator of the Year. Dr. Hussein is a member of several professional and dental organizations including AADR, IADR, and ADEA. Since 2014 she has been successfully involved in many research projects including NIH and industry-funded projects in dental materials. She has published and presented her results at many dental meetings. Her area of research includes aesthetic, dental materials, adhesive dentistry, wear studies, and biofilm. Dr. Hussein has two U.S. patents.
