Biography

Dr. Beatriz Panariello is an Assistant Professor of Microbiology and General Practice Dentistry Preceptor at LECOM School of Dental Medicine. She holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, along with Master of Science (MSc) and Ph.D. degrees in Prosthodontics with a strong focus on oral microbiology. During her doctoral studies, she spent a period at NYU College of Dentistry as a visiting scholar, further deepening her understanding of oral biofilms. She is internationally recognized for her significant contributions to dental research, particularly in oral microbiology. Her research has been published in prestigious dental and microbiological journals, providing important insights into oral diseases caused by oral biofilms such as dental caries, periodontal diseases, oral candidiasis, and more. Following her doctoral studies, Dr. Panariello pursued postdoctoral training at Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD) to strengthen her knowledge in applied research across various dental disciplines. Her experience includes roles as a lecturer and instructor at IUSD, where she taught general and oral microbiology and mentored numerous dental students and residents in dental research. Before joining LECOM, she worked as a Senior Research Associate at the respected American Dental Association (ADA). Dr. Panariello is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of her students and patients by emphasizing a holistic view of human health beyond dental care, advocating for evidence-based practice. Her mission is to integrate comprehensive oral health into overall well-being. Beyond her professional pursuits, she cherishes her role as a dedicated mother to her beloved son and holds her family in the highest regard.
