Brian A. Kessler, D.O. Named 2024-2025 President of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians

Brian A. Kessler, D.O.The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) has named Brian A. Kessler, D.O. as President for its 2024-2025 term. The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) alumnus began his one-year term of service after being installed during the 61st ACOFP Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars held in New Orleans.

“I am honored to be named ACOFP President,” affirmed Dr. Kessler. “My term will be marked by the ACOFP Foundation’s Family Medicine Forward Campaign to support early career osteopathic physicians and the 75th Anniversary of ACOFP. I look forward to working with our ACOFP leaders and membership to honor the history of the organization, to celebrate the great work being done today, and to prepare for the future of ACOFP and osteopathic family medicine,” he concluded.

Dr. Kessler is committed to serving the more than 26,000 physician, resident, and student members of ACOFP and the profession it serves.

Currently, Dr. Kessler serves as Dean of Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine and Professor of Family Medicine in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Previously, he served as Dean of Lincoln Memorial University and Director of Medical Education at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital.

Dr. Kessler is a distinguished and highly-honored physician-educator. He was twice named to the Best Doctors America listing by Cleveland Magazine and he has received several ACOFP awards, including the Outstanding Paper Crest and Distinguished Service Awards.

Since 2015, the accomplished physician has served on the ACOFP Board of Governors, holding notable positions, including Secretary/Treasurer in 2021. He has also been named an ACOFP fellow for which he received distinguished fellow designation.

Dr. Kessler earned both his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and his Doctor of Healthcare Administration Degrees from LECOM.
