Biography
Dr. Ramla Kamal, MBBS, MSc, is a faculty member at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, where she serves as a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) facilitator. She fosters students’ critical thinking, collaborative learning, and the application of basic medical knowledge to clinical scenarios.
Dr. Kamal earned her medical degree, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)) from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, and her Master of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from University of Putra Malaysia. She worked as a general practitioner and lecturer in Nigeria for more than five years. Dr. Kamal has also been actively involved in research across pharmacology, toxicology, and immunology and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles. Before joining LECOM, she gained additional research experience in immunobiology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
Dr. Kamal’s clinical, academic, and research background provides a multidisciplinary foundation for her role in medical education. She aspires to bring this diverse experience to support student success.
