A Proud Partnership for Protection and Community

In communities across America, the strongest bonds are forged when neighbors stand together with a shared purpose. That spirit of unity and service is shining brightly in Corry, Pennsylvania, where LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital (CMH) and the City of Corry Police Department have announced a powerful new partnership dedicated to safeguarding both patients and the broader community.

Effective January 1, 2026, this collaboration formalizes the City of Corry Police Department’s primary jurisdiction over properties owned and operated by CMH within the city.  More than an agreement on paper, it represents a shared commitment to vigilance, compassion, and civic responsibility.

Because the safety of patients and staff comes first, LECOM Health has taken a proactive step by helping to fund a dedicated City of Corry police officer.

Through an $85,000 investment for the 2026 calendar year, CMH is directly supporting enhanced law enforcement presence; an investment not only in security, but in peace of mind.

Under this partnership, the officer will conduct regular and random patrols across the CMH campus, respond promptly to calls for service, carry out investigations, file criminal charges when necessary, and perform safety check-ins with hospital staff.  This visible and responsive presence reinforces a secure healing environment where medical professionals can focus upon care and patients can focus upon recovery.

“Because the safety of our patients and staff comes first, we’re proud to introduce enhanced security measures that offer greater peace of mind inside our facilities, as well as help create a safer community with the addition of a new police officer,” affirmed LECOM Health Regional President, Danielle Hansen, D.O.

City of Corry Police Chief, Jordon Kitchen, echoed that spirit of collaboration and service.  “We look forward to providing the enhanced security measures and increased police presence to the LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital campus and all members of the Corry Community,” he noted.

At its heart, this partnership reflects the very best of American values: cooperation between institutions, respect for those who serve, and an unwavering commitment to protecting life.  For LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital and the City of Corry Police Department, this is more than enhanced security; it is a testament to what can be accomplished when healthcare leaders and law enforcement stand shoulder-to- shoulder for the good of the community.

In Corry, safety, service, and patriotism are not just ideals – they are action.
