Biography
Dr. Deepak Sharma M.D. MSMed is an Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), Erie, PA. He earned his M.Sc. in Medical Education from LECOM and his M.D. from St. George’s University, School of Medicine. He also holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Portland State University.
Dr. Sharma has extensive academic experience in teaching anatomy, histology, embryology, and clinical medicine, with a focus on integrating ultrasound, radiology, and problem-based learning into medical education. He has served in multiple academic leadership roles, including course director, module Director, and content manager.
He is an active member of professional societies including the American Association of Clinical Anatomists (AACA), International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE), and the Anatomy and Physiology Society (HAPS). Dr. Sharma has presented at international conferences and contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and textbooks in anatomy and medical education.
His clinical and educational interests include cadaveric anatomy, ultrasound integration in medical teaching, curriculum development, and faculty development.
