Biography

Hannah Haynie is the Instructor and Director of Medical Education Outreach at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). With a background rooted in sociology, psychology, and the biological sciences, Hannah brings a community-focused approach to medical education. She is passionate about supporting students and bridging academic learning with real-world impact, especially in underserved and safety-net healthcare settings. Before joining LECOM, Hannah held roles in academic medicine, behavioral health, and nonprofit leadership, including positions at Northeast Ohio Medical University, Kent State University, and ONE Health Ohio. She has secured grant funding for student-led and community-based programs, contributed to research on medication-assisted treatment and access to care, and enjoys mentoring future healthcare professionals. Hannah holds a Master of Science in Health Psychology from Saint Leo University. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Sociology, with a focus on medical and mental health, at Kent State University. A native of Hubbard, Ohio, Hannah graduated with honors from Youngstown State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences. Crain’s Cleveland Business recognized her work as one of 2024’s “20 In Their 20s,” and she remains dedicated to creating inclusive and meaningful learning experiences for students and the communities they serve.
