The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine held its annual research day on October 25th. The event culminates months of medical research conducted by students and medical residents and emphasizes the important research conducted at the college.
Research Day highlights the accomplishments of the LECOM and Millcreek Community Hospital communities as they investigate new ways to promote health and understand disease processes, as well as the basic biological processes underlying the normal functions of the human body.
“Students who do research gain insight into how we gain new knowledge about health and disease, what needs to be done to demonstrate that an idea about how things work can be supported or refuted” says Michael Bradbury, Ph.D., Assistant Director of Research. “This research can lead to new approaches to investigating problems in human health and providing improved healthcare during a students career, as well as preparing them for residencies that require research as part of their future training.”
