Biography
Dr. Gilmore is the Director of Experiential Education of the School of Pharmacy. Prior to coming to LECOM, he had a 20+ year career with Rite Aid with increasing roles of responsibility including corporate summer intern, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, Manager of Clinical Services, Manager of Clinical Services, Director of Clinical Services and Regional Health Leader. He also served various roles throughout his career in the acute care setting including Director of Pharmacy at Kane Community Hospital (now UPMC Kane) a 23 bed rural hospital and Manager of Pharmacy Clinical Services at UPMC Hamot a 400 bed teaching hospital in downtown Erie. His practice interests include clinical services in the outpatient setting such as immunizations, medication therapy management, point-of-care testing and diabetes education as well as leadership development of his team. During his career, he precepted many students and enjoyed giving back to the profession by mentoring the students that rotated with him which ultimately led him to his current position at LECOM. Dr. Gilmore lectures on various topics throughout the pharmacy curriculum.
