Dr. Bhattacharya joined LECOM as an assistant professor of pharmacology in March 2020. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmacology from Auburn University and completed two postdoctoral fellowships from University of Alabama at Birmingham and Emory University. He has over six years of experience in neuropharmacology and neurotoxicology. Dr. Bhattacharya's research focuses on understanding the role of hippocampal glutamatergic and dopaminergic signaling pathways in Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder animal models. He has strong expertise in electrophysiology and molecular biology techniques. Dr. Bhattacharya has published over 10 peer-reviewed journal articles and served as reviewers for journal of Molecular Neuroscience and Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy. Dr. Bhattacharya is interested in establishing a student-centered research project at LECOM.
