Hershey Bell, M.D., Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the LECOM School of Pharmacy, is also a home studio musician. In 2019, along with School of Pharmacy faculty member Dr. Dan Austin, and musicians from Nashville, TN; Tallahassee, FL; Minneapolis, MN; Sweden, Norway, The United Kingdom, and Australia, he set out to create an extended play collection. Titled, "San Ysidro", the collection includes an eclectic mixture of five songs.

"I took a course with accomplished Nashville musician Joe Gilder called '10 Day EP' which required writing 20 songs, finding four or five that worked, and then arranging, producing, mixing and mastering the songs. For me, it was a bit more than 10 days!! I started the course the last week of December 2018 and finished the project in December 2019. 'San Ysidro' will be available on all major music services January 14, 2020. It was mixed by Joe Gilder in Tennessee and professionally mastered by Ben Holmes in the UK.

However, my idea from the start was to create a fundraiser for the LECOM Scholarship Fund to support students pursuing professional degrees in medicine, pharmacy and dentistry. Toward that end, I decided to also release 'San Ysidro' as a CD for $6.00 (or $7.00 as a personally autographed copy) with ALL PROFITS going to support the LECOM Student Scholarship Fund. I hope you enjoy the music, but more so, thank you for choosing to support the LECOM Scholarship Fund."
