LECOM Erie Dental Offices
2000 W. Grandview Blvd., Erie, PA 16509

The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) has seen the continued need for dentists across the nation, including Pennsylvania. The state of Pennsylvania does poorly in delivering dental care for individuals and families who are unable to find affordable treatment options, especially for children. It has been shown that early dental health treatment carries over into better adult health, including lower cardiac disease risk. To help alleviate that shortage, LECOM is bringing much-needed dental health care to Erie where fourth-year dental students will train alongside licensed dentists. LECOM has opened a dental office at 2000 West Grandview Blvd. The presence of the dental office will improve the health status of the community by providing comprehensive care and general dentistry for all ages. The dental practice suites are located in a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art facility. Each spring, 50, fourth-year LECOM School of Dental Medicine students, who already have one-year of clinical experience, will begin a 48-week primary care clinical rotation in Erie. The students work under direct supervision of licensed dentists and will see patients of all ages. They will employ the latest diagnostic tools such as digital X-rays for full mouth and individual teeth. Students will keep track of patient records with state-of-the-art electronic medical record software. Each student has a treatment room where they will provide comprehensive dental care services. This includes: cleanings, periodontal treatments, crowns, root canal therapy, extractions, dental restorations and full and partial dental prostheses treatments.
