MS Med Ed Curriculum

Curriculum for M.S. in Medical Education program

The curriculum consists of three competency areas essential to the development of proficient scholars and future educator-leaders delivered entirely though asynchronous distance education.  Students in the two-year program complete two courses per trimester while students in the one-year program must complete four courses per trimester.

B. Educational Skills Practicum (2.5 credit hours per course)

  • Biostatistics
  • Effective Lecturing & Communication Skills
  • Educational Assessment & Evaluation

C. Scholarship/ Thesis Project (2.0 credit hours per course)

  • Educational Scholarship I: Need Assessments & Rationale Statements
  • Educational Scholarship II: Project Goals & Objectives
  • Educational Scholarship III: Teaching Strategies & Assessments
  • Educational Scholarship IV: Program Implementation & Evaluation
