Accreditation Council for Pharmacy
Education
The LECOM School of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy degree program is fully
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). On January 31, 2011,
LECOM received notification from ACPE that the school of pharmacy was granted a full, six-year
accreditation.

About the
ACPE
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) is the national
agency for the accreditation of professional degree programs in pharmacy and providers of
continuing pharmacy education. ACPE was established in 1932 for the accreditation of pre-service
education, and in 1975, its scope of activity was broadened to include accreditation of providers
of continuing pharmacy education. ACPE is the sole accreditation agency recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education to accredit professional degree programs in pharmacy.
The Council is an autonomous and independent agency whose
Board of Directors is derived through the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the
American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP)
(three appointments each), and the American Council on Education (ACE) (one appointment).

The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic
Medicine is chartered by the Department of Education of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the
Commission for Independent Education of the Florida Department of Education.
Middle States Accreditation
LECOM is accredited by the Commission on Higher
Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street,
Philadelphia, PA 19104; (267-284-5000). The Middle States Commission on Higher Education is an
institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for
Higher Education Accreditation. |
