LECOM and Millcreek Community Hospital held their annual CME Conference at the Peek'n Peak Conference Center on March 4-6, 2011. The next CME conference is scheduled for September 2011. Details on the Fall Primary Care Update will be available soon.

Primary Care 2011 offered physicians the opportunity to learn the latest information on medical advancements and treatment options. Lectures 2343 presented by LECOM faculty and regional speakers.

LECOM Primary Care conferences focus on health problems commonly seen in the offices of primary care physicians. The objective of this three-day seminar is to provide participating physicians with information about new medical advancements in order to increase the scope of treatment options available to primary care physicians and to enhance the physicians' existing knowledge of topics that will be covered. Following the Primary Care conference, the physician should be able to apply this new medical information in diagnosis and treatment, thus improving patient care.

Primary Care 2011 participants should complete the Outcome Survey by June 4, 2011.

Continuing Medical Education Credits
The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Primary Care 2011 has been approved for up to 20 AOA Category I-A CME credit hours by the AOA CCME. LECOM also received AAFP CME accreditation for up to 20 Category 1 prescribed credits. Primary Care 2011 also designated 5.75 hours devoted to Risk Management/Patient Safety Requirements.

The current AOA CME cycle ends December 2012. Annual attendance at LECOM's Primary Care conference offers physicians an excellent opportunity to earn the category 1-A CME credits required for state licensing and AOA membership.

All Faculty participating in continuing medical education programs sponsored by LECOM are expected to disclose to the program audience any real or apparent conflicts of interest related to the content of their presentations.
