LECOM offers quality continuing medical education programs delivered by the medical college faculty and regional speakers. The Continuing Education Program anticipates this program receiving approval 20 Category 1-A credits by the American Osteopathic Association Council for Continuing Medical Education and 20 prescribed credits through the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In conjunction with Primary Care 2012, LECOM invites health care and pharmaceutical companies to exhibit at the program. Exhibit areas are separate from lecture rooms. PRIMARY CARE 2012 EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Primary Care 2012 will focus on health problems commonly seen in the offices of primary care physicians. The objective of this three-day seminar is to provide participating physicians with information about new medical advancements in order to increase the scope of treatment options available to primary care physicians and to enhance the physicians' existing knowledge of topics that will be covered. Following Primary Care 2012, the physician should be able to apply this new medical information in diagnosis and treatment, thus improving patient care.

  • At risk pregnancy - what the primary care physician should know
  • Newest orthopedic surgery for speedier recoveries
  • What your patients need to know about medication adherence
  • Successful aging through geriatric assessment and treatment
  • Managing the chronic pain patient
  • How diet and nutrition will keep your patients heart-healthy
  • The Sports Medicine Bag - what you need to know when treating athletes
  • The Integrated Primer of Psychiatry for primary care
  • and more

ACCOMMODATIONS

Registrants are responsible for their own hotel accommodations. For reservations, call Peek’n Peak at (716) 355-4141, ext. 7154, and specify that you have enrolled in the LECOM Primary Care 2012 seminar. Peek’n Peak will hold a block of rooms for participants. Reservations must be made by January 30, 2012, to guarantee a room.

Standard Rooms $125
Parlors and Suites $145 - $215
Ask the hotel about available condos and suites.

  • Weekend reservations must be for minimum Friday and Saturday.
  • All rates based on double occupancy, unless otherwise noted.
  • Additional charg for each adult, 18 and older. Contact hotel for rate.
  • Room rates are subject to state and local taxes.
  • Condominium style accommodations available by contacting Peek’n Peak; additional prices and occupancy rates apply.
  • Peek’n Peak Resort and Conference Center does not guarantee specific room type availability. Requests will be accommodated to the best of the property’s availability.
  • Check-in time is after 4 p.m. on day of arrival. Checkout time is before 11 a.m. on day of departure.
