Become a Pharmacy Experience Preceptor

Dear Pharmacist Colleague,

When we think back to our days in pharmacy school, we cannot help but remember our time on rotations and the wonderful individuals who assisted in our training. We had some wonderful experiences during rotations such as adult medicine, hospital, ambulatory care, infectious disease, cardiology, community, along with several others. As faculty members and preceptors ourselves, we try to emulate some of the best collective qualities of what we learned from our former preceptors: insistence on excellence, attention to detail, empathy and the utmost in professionalism. We often wonder whether we would have been as successful in our careers thus far had it not been for these individuals and their influence in our lives.

If you have had a similar experience, and we hope that you have, would you please consider keeping the circle of mentorship going by precepting a student for an IPPE or APPE experience? We are always interested in having high-quality preceptors join our team to not only mentor our students regarding the principles of drug therapy management, but also the key aspects of what it means to be a pharmacist professional.

If you are interested in becoming a LECOM preceptor, we invite you to contact us so we can discuss our program further and your potential availability for a student rotation. You may also contact us with questions at any time.

Thank you so much for your time. Most importantly, thank you for your service to patients, to our profession and to our students.

Warmest regards,

Luke Gilmore, Pharm.D.
