Pharmacy students and faculty inducted into Gamma Tau

of Pharmacy students and faculty were inducted into the Gamma Tau Chapter of the Rho Chi
Society. |
Fulfilling its mission to encourage
and recognize excellence in intellectual achievements in the study of pharmacy, the LECOM School of Pharmacy Gamma Tau Chapter of the Rho Chi Society officially inducted 27 new members
into the national academic honor society in pharmacy.
The ceremony took place at the
Bel-Aire Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Erie on Feb. 7. Six members of the School of
Pharmacy class of 2010, 19 members of the class of 2011 and two faculty members were lauded for their individual
achievements in the study and promotion of pharmacy.
Sarah Moffett, PharmD, a 2007 graduate
of the LECOM School of Pharmacy, was the guest speaker for the event. Dr. Moffett is a clinical
pharmacist at UPMC
Northwest in Seneca, Pa. Following her graduation from LECOM, she completed a residency at
Saint Vincent Health Center in 2008.

Dr. Moffett has been the clinical
pharmacist at UPMC Northwest for nearly two years. During her time at UPMC Northwest, she
developed an antimicrobial program to help promote appropriate antibiotic use and minimize
antibiotic resistance and has established a daily rounding service in the adult intensive care
unit. She chairs the anticoagulation committee, which develops policies and order sets to address
the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goal. Dr. Moffett’s professional
organization memberships include the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of
Health-System Pharmacists, and the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Inductees from the class of 2010 include Marcus Babiak, Gurjeet Brar, Stephen Brown, Tim Chiu,
Rafael Estevez and Brittany Ludwiczak. Inductees from the class of 2011 include Zaina Assaf,
Jennifer Bailey, Kesha Bivens, Diane Conrad, Nathan Dahl, Jacquelyn Forsythe, Shelby Gangloff,
Lauren Hajdu, Vanessa Lewis, Anna Lindahl, Scott Nellis, Jessie Notz, Haeri Park, Kenneth Robinson,
Jesse Shilot, Holly Spildener, Rodney Turner, Cory Ulisse and Benjamin Vroman. Faculty initiates
include Bojana Stevich, PharmD, and Duc Do, PhD.
