Fitness and Wellness Center. |
Students from
the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine joined faculty and staff members at the John M. &
Silvia Ferretti Medical Fitness and Wellness Center recently to participate in the Primary Care
Olympics. The event brought together students with ambitions of working in primary care once they
complete medical school.

Committee members organizing the event included committee Chair Richard A.
Ortoski, DO, Chairman of the Department of Primary Care Education; committee Assistant Chair Tyler
Travis, Medical Fitness and Wellness Center Fitness Director; Patrick Leary, DO, Director of Sports
Medicine; and Michael Hyek, PhD, Director of the Medical Fitness and Wellness Center.
Students participated in a variety of events that tested their physical abilities, as well as
instilling the values of teamwork and competition. The winners of the competition were students
Brandon Costello, Addison Haynes, Corey Hickey, Adam Cien, Lindsey Heidenreich, Elizabeth Helton,
Molly Howsare and Meghan Borden.
