of Pharmacy students took a field trip to the Erie Zoo recently with residents of the Millcreek
Geriatric Education & Care Center. |
Students in the LECOM School of Pharmacy have taken an active role in the
community this summer with several events designed to help out those in need in the Erie
community.
Members of the LECOM School of Pharmacy Rho Chi Honor Society volunteered their
time to participate in the East County Relay for Life at Harborcreek High School in suburban
Erie.
The students volunteered at the Fight Back mission integration tent as well as the
Cancer Action Network tent. Members of the society distinguished themselves in special shirts that
designated their affiliation with Rho Chi and LECOM.

Pharmacy
students involved with the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists took advantage of some
comfortable Erie summer weather to lead a group of Millcreek Geriatric Education & Care Center
residents on a tour of the Erie Zoo.
The vision of the American Society of Consultant
Pharmacists is optimal medication management and improved health outcomes for all older persons.
Students with an interest in geriatric medicine and practice are a part of this group, and they
volunteer to work with older residents.
The group organizes similar events for residents of
the Millcreek Geriatric Education & Care Center, including shopping trips to Wal-Mart.
