I t wasn’t that long ago that Sasha Noe, DO, ‘09, was roaming through the Harvest Centre in Lakewood Ranch, Florida, eager to learn more about the variety of paths she could pursue once she finished her medical school experience at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

“I’ve been in their shoes,” she said during the college’s annual Hospital Day. “My best advice is that they experience every rotation. That’s how you find what you love to do.”

Dr. Noe and three of her colleagues, all 2009 Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton graduates, were on hand representing St. Petersburg General Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Noe and Gene DiBetta, DO, are both in a family medicine residency at the hospital.

“I am so proud to be a graduate of LECOM Bradenton,” Dr. Noe said. “It’s so great to be here with my LECOM classmates and working with fellow future alumni as they consider the medical career that’s best for them.”

Hospital Day is a time for current LECOM osteopathic first- and second-year medical students to learn about clinical rotations, internships and residency options that are available at hospitals around the country. Nearly 40 medical institutions from 10 states participated in the event.

Among those in attendance were representatives from the Millcreek Health System in Erie, Pa. James Lin, DO, ‘02, spoke to students about rotation slots and internships and residency opportunities. Dr. Lin is Vice President of Senior Services and Adult Living and clinical professor of geriatric medicine at LECOM Erie.
