LECOM
School of Pharmacy faculty and students are celebrating American Pharmacists Month throughout
October.
The celebration began early with a visit to the LECOM
Erie campus by children from the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Pharmacy students demonstrated
compounding lab activities and explained opportunities for becoming a pharmacist.
The American Pharmacists Month theme is Know Your MEDICINE Know Your
PHARMACIST. During the month, LECOM students and faculty members will provide information on safe
and effective use of medications, demonstrate poison prevention awareness, and assist at community
health fairs and clinics.
The School of Pharmacy will host the
October meeting of the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy. The Board will be hearing licensing
and regulatory issues during the meeting on October 21.
