LECOM helped members of the regional community “Celebrate Erie” recently.

LECOM medical students teamed up with representatives of Wellsville for healthy living presentations during the Celebrate Erie festival.

During the city’s annual downtown Celebrate Erie festival, LECOM and Wellsville teamed up to discuss the importance of healthy living and proper nutrition. A group of medical students helped creative interactive demonstrations with visitors to the LECOM/Wellsville tent, while others discussed the importance of proper eating habits, exercise and hygiene.

Members of the LECOM community and of the John M. & Silvia Ferretti Medical Fitness and Wellness Center were treated to a special performance from the group CircEsteem, a Chicago-based group whose mission is to unite youth from diverse racial, cultural, and economic backgrounds and help them build self-esteem and mutual respect through the practice of circus arts.
