Osteopathic Medicine Day gives state legislators the chance to meet leaders of the osteopathic
profession in Florida. Legislators learn firsthand how important the role of the osteopathic
physician is to the delivery of quality healthcare to the citizens of Florida.
It also gives Florida DOs a chance to help gain visibility for the osteopathic profession and
see just how the legislative process works.
Students attended a meet-and-greet with Gov. Charlie Crist, Sen. President Jeff Atwater, Chief
Financial Officer Alex Sink and Attorney General Bill McCollum.
They also attended a legislative session at the State Capitol.
