LECOM Bradenton hosts Leadership Manatee
Community Leaders visit Bradenton campus
LECOM Bradenton School of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Gary Levin, PharmD and assistant dean of academic
affairs Dr. Ron Berezniak, PhD participated in a panel discussion with other area college
representatives as part of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Manatee program.
Forty members of Leadership Manatee visited the LECOM Bradenton campus to hear from
representatives of area colleges and universities including: LECOM Bradenton, USF Sarasota-Manatee,
Manatee Community College, Ringling College of Art & Design, Webster University and New
College.

Dr. Berezniak
addressed the primary care physician shortage in Florida and also touted LECOM Bradenton’s
high pass rate (Class of 2009 second in the country) on part one of the Comprehensive Osteopathic
Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX).
The Leadership Manatee program is designed to
expose current and future leaders to all aspects of Manatee County.
The program's
purpose is to identify community leaders of diverse backgrounds, develop their potential and desire
to accept civic responsibilities and leadership roles and to expose community leaders to the
problems and opportunities that face Manatee County.
