Erie & Bradenton Enlisted Members of the LECOM Class of 2010 Hold Commissioning Ceremonies
Fourteen graduates take the Military Oath of Office during a
special ceremony at the Erie Tom Ridge Environmental Center.
Swearing to uphold
the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, fourteen members of the LECOM Erie Class
of 2010 and 11 members of the LECOM Bradenton Class of 2010 received promotions in the Army, Air
Force and Navy as they continue their medical careers with the US Armed Services. They join their
fellow LECOM alumni who have served or are still serving their countries as military physicians
stateside and abroad.

Commander Louis Lazzara, US Navy gave the Keynote Address to the new officers.
Commander Lazzara graduated from Gannon University in Erie, went to the Navy Officer Candidate
School in Rhode Island and served aboard submarines. He explained life aboard a submarine, but
noted as medical officers in the Army, Navy or Air Force, the LECOM graduates may be called to
provide medical care to members of any of the military services during combat. Commander Lazzara
has been accepted as a first-year medical student and begins classes in July at LECOM at Seton
Hill. More
